During the first half of the year, Latvia exported generally 1.449 million m³ of roundwood, which shows a decline of almost 26% comparing with the previous year.
Exports of softwood logs were below average at 18 % to 474,500 m³, while exports of hardwood declined much more at 29 % to 0.975m m³. In percentage terms, the value of total logs exports fell down even more sharply and, at around € 76.6 million, was 44% lower than in the same period of 2019. The calculated value per unit fell by 25% to € 52.9 per m³. The average export value for exported softwood logs was € 54.2 and for hardwoods € 52.3 per cubic meter.
